Review : LOKL @ Jalan Tun HS Lee
Nestled in the vicinity of Masjid Jamek on a very quiet street, LOKL is a cafe worthy of your time during a weekend to have brunch or dessert. Its the kind of place you would go to relax, read a book, or have a chat with your friends. We were there on a Saturday morning for brunch and found it a pleasant place to linger around after finishing our food. This cafe has been around for several years now but we unfortunately did not know about it until recently. They serve good comfort food that syncs with the ambience so do not expect any fancy fare. This is a pork free cafe.

What's
this called : Biscuit & Gravy
Chubsquared
thoughts :
This is a typical Southern American breakfast dish consisting of soft dough biscuits drenched in meat gravy. It is rare to see this in Malaysia and even more rare to find a decent one. I felt the biscuits could have had a bit more crunch and taste. The gravy tasted good and went well with this which was a relief because the backbone of this dish is that gravy. A bad gravy will render this totally inedible.
What's in
it : Southern buttermilk biscuits and chunky chicken sausages in gravy.
What's
this called : Smoked Brisket Hash

thoughts : I preferred this dish over the biscuits & gravy. It had more flavor and the different ingredients went so well together. I would suggest in each spoonful to take at least 1 of each and eat it together because the taste is different otherwise. Definitely something I would order again.
What's in
it : Casserole of fried potatoes, brisket, sausages, and onions topped with fried egg and drizzled with bbq sauce.
Overall Chubsquared-tified : 2/3 Food was good and acceptable. I will likely return to try other brunch options and especially dessert which I did not have the opportunity to try since I was too full.
