Review : Yellow Brick Road @ Damansara Heights

Brunch is what I love to do during weekends! Located at Batai Village, this place is a popular brunch spot. If you visit during weekends, expect to wait at least 20 minutes. It is, however, worth the wait! The crowd on weekdays is bearable. I went on a Tuesday afternoon at 1pm and did not have to queue.

*Seating tip : A children's play area is located upstairs. Sit here for a family friendly area. If you want to avoid screaming kids, request for a seat downstairs.

yellow brick road Aspaga-saurus

What's this called : Aspaga-saurus (I presume this is a combination of Asparagus + Dinosaurus. It is probably called that in reference to the huge asparagus sticks)

What's in it : Parmesan-coated asparagus sticks with a slice of creamy mushroom toast underneath, topped with poached egg soaking in seaweed hollandaise sauce.

Chubsquared thoughts : This was really delicious with the right amount of crunch from the breaded asparagus which complemented the nicely moist toast. Hollandaise sauce was excellent and I would have liked this dish even more if extra sauce was provided. The portion of this however is small and would not be sufficient for larger appetites.

yellow brick road Eggs Norwegian
What's this called : Eggs Norwegian

What's in it : Two poached eggs on cornflake-crusted french toast with sauteed mushrooms, fried onion rings, and in-house cured dill infused salmon with seaweed hollandaise sauce.

Chubsquared thoughts : Much bigger dish as compared to the above. While the Aspaga-saurus only had 1 slice of toast, this dish had 2 and was very filling. But while the description of this dish sounds delicious, the toast was lacking in taste and was rather bland while the salmon was salty. Eating bits of everything together does slightly improve the taste of this dish. The eggs, onion rings, and mushrooms were cooked perfectly and were my favorites of this dish.

Overall Chubsquared-tified : 2/3 Food was good and acceptable. Will likely return to try something else.
